Data Sovereignty is the idea that the data volunteered by users is also controlled by the users, instead of being controlled by the organisations who may enforce registration on users to access different platforms. Geospatial Technologies are any product, service or integrated system that allows users to use satellite or locational data for easier functioning. Anything ranging from users’ applications like uber and zomato, to the defense of the country planning their stations can be dependent on geospatial technology.

Geospatial technologies have existed for decades, but only recently come into the purview  of the everyday user, to make this technology something that everyone is adept in, that can be consider passe and unintimidating is the main reason behind selecting this as a theme. Further, geospatial data, that is data that is derived from geospatial technologies, is of grave importance in modern times, where every national, and international scheme is

The applications of geospatial technologies are unlimited. The idea behind the use of such a technology is that all applications are dependent on land or relative locational space. The major economic areas are agriculture, defense, telecommunication, data privacy, land development, urban transport etc. The SDGs are also highly dependent on the optimal use of geospatial technologies and can only be achieved by 2030 if they are utilised.
